CLSU bags championship in the Annual PSC Math and Sci Quiz

The CLSU team grabbed the over-all championship in the 2010 Annual Philippine Science Consortium (PSC) Math and Science Quiz held at Benguet State University last December 2. The team bested 24 other participating state universities and colleges.

The consortium is composed of 31 members.

According to Dr. Amelia Daquioag, chair of the Department of the Mathematics and Physics and coordinator of the CLSU delegation, together with Prof. Dina Romano, CLSU placed 1st in Chemistry with Brilliant King Vergara and Shanna Marie Alonzo as contestants; 3rd in Biology represented by Neah Rosandra Sevilla and Arnel Celestino; 6th place in Physics  with Eden Jagolina and John Edward Zapater as the contestants; and 9th place in Mathematics represented by Mark Oliver Balanon and John Aba Mariñas.

The team was coached by Mr. Armand Parayao, Biology; Ms. Melissa Agustin, Chemistry; Ms. Jade Farrah Dianne Mendoza and Mr. Richard Tagle, Physics; and Mr. Jun Romano and Dr. Edwin Ibañez, Mathematics.
